Concerts This Week at Levitt Pavilion

Summer Concerts Under the Sky at Levitt Pavilion, Pasadena

Children’s Entertainment is up next when Summer Concerts Under the Stars begins a schedule of nightly concerts at Levitt Pavilion in Memorial Park, Pasadena. 

Bob Baker and his Marionettes will be on hand 7 p.m. Wednesday, June 25in a return engagement that has charmed families of all ages for several years at these concerts.

Levitt Pavilion will host a performance of a different style of music Wednesdays through Sundays with the final performance on Friday, Aug. 29.  Wednesday is Children’s Entertainment with performances starting at 7 p.m.  Thursdays will be devoted to American Music beginning each week at 7:30 p.m.  Friday, Saturday shows begin at 8 p.m. with Fridays devoted to World Rhythms and Saturdays to Musica Latina.  Sunday programs, which begin at 7 p.m., will be Jazz Nights. 

This week Laurie Lewis, a fabulous bluegrass fiddler is on tap at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, June 26; The Kusun Ensemble entertains with music and dance of Ghana, West Africa at 8 p.m. on Friday, June 27; Quetzal, an East LA group presents its heritage of Mexican-Afro-Cuban music with singer Martha Gonzales at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 28. 

The current weekly schedule ends with a performance by jazz singing star Barbara Morrison at 7 p.m. Sunday, June 29.  If you know jazz, don’t miss Morrison.  She is an entertainer with total pizzazz.  Also, scan the audience for the many well-known jazz artists who frequent her performances.

Levitt Pavilion is the bandshell in Memorial Park.  The park is at the corner of Walnut St. and Raymond Ave., Pasadena.
